Footwear in the Philippines

I use three different kinds of footwear here in the Philippines:
  1. Athletic shoes  Which I use for daily walking, but it is far too hot here to wear on any kind of regular basis.
  2. Formal shoes  Which anywhere else would be called casual shoes.  I use these exclusively to visit government offices.  But only because they do not allow tsinelas.  Again, far too hot here to wear on a regular basis.  Although, I do use a very old pair of mesh OluKais, which are quite comfortable in this climate.  And the government office guards seem happy enough with this choice.
  3. Flip flops  Or, tsinelas.  This is everyday wear in the Philippines.  But these can be further divided between:
Daily flip flops  For use around the barangay (village).
Good flip flops  For going to town.
You can't make this stuff up.
